Citizens of Miles City were clamoring for a golf course as early as 1900. That dream became a reality in 1923 when the original 9-hole Miles City Golf Course was laid out and then in 1931 the course was expanded to 18 holes.
By the mid-1950s the town of Miles City bought a tract of land near the Tongue River from the Federal Government with the intention of building a golf course. With lots of volunteer effort from the local citizenry, the 9-hole Town and Country Club of Miles City had its grand opening on June 29, 1957.
Since then, the Town and Country Club of Miles City has proved a popular golfing destination in eastern Montana. A family friendly establishment that has an 18-hole tee box setup, it is located on the beautiful Tongue River, with plenty of grand cottonwood trees lining the course.
