About Polson Bay GC

Golf has existed in Polson since 1930, when the town’s Chamber of Commerce bought 40 acres of land a half-mile west of the Polson Bridge with intentions of building not only a municipal golf course, but an airport as well.

This course only lasted a few years until 1936 when citizens of Polson, with help from the Works Progress Administration bought a new tract of land just east of Polson on the shores of Flathead Lake and began construction on a new set of links. By 1938 the Polson Bay Golf Course was open to the public.

On the southern end of the lake, Polson Bay Golf Course is uniquely shielded from the winter elements, and this allows the course to generally open much earlier than it’s peers. With fairways adjacent to Flathead Lake, and with beautiful mountain views, the scenery alone makes it worth stopping by the course.

Boasting 27 holes, the Polson Bay Golf Course is a well-maintained course with elevation changes and plenty of trees to go along with the world class scenery. For golfers traveling through the area, it’s a must stop course.
