The Meadow Lake Golf Course in Columbia Falls opened for play in June of 1976. Originally nine-holes designed by John Steidel, the course sits on the site of what used to be a ranch. Dick Phelps came in a decade later to renovate the course and bump it up to 18 holes.
Recently given a rare 4.5-star review by Golf Digest, Meadow Lake is a well-maintained, championship level course with world-class scenery. In the northwest part of the state, just a short drive to Glacier National Park, one can expect tree-lined holes, ponds, streams and maybe even a little wildlife. Meadow Lake is a beautiful course that should be on any Montana golfers short list to play.
