Golf in Montana originated in Butte, and while it wasn’t the first in the city, the Highland View Golf course is nevertheless one of the state’s oldest municipal courses. Now in modern times, it’s a course with a regulation nine-holes, and nine-holes of par-three play. Originating in the 1930s, the regulation nine-hole is described as an old-style course that is inexpensive, quick to play and has great views, while the par 3 course is great for family outings.
