About Green Meadow CC

In 1943, looking for a post-war enterprise, officials from the Helena Country Club acquired land in west Helena that would eventually become the Green Meadow Country Club. Having secured property from the former Central Park, and land donated from local philanthropist Mrs. Adelaide Child, the Helena Country Club in conjunction with the Montana club were able to complete the original nine-hole course in the spring of 1946. Membership at the Montana Club was a requirement for Green Meadow Country Club patrons until 1970, when the two organizations agreed to separate into two distinct entities.

Renowned Montana engineer Gregor MacMillan designed the original Green Meadow, which was originally supposed to be 18 holes, but due to high costs remained at nine for the next thirty years. Finally, in 1976 Seattle Architect William Teufel was brought in to design the additional nine holes.

Green Meadow Country Club remains as beautiful as ever and continues to be a highly sought after course for tournament golf. Among hosting a number of other tournaments, Green Meadow recently gained the distinction as one of three Montana courses to ever host the Girls Junior America’s Cup held in 2022.
