Located in the Helena Valley, the Fox Ridge Golf Course was a passion project of the Hoff family – Floyd and Cleo Larue Hoff and their son Floyd Jr. Built through the hard work of the Hoff family and their friends, the first nine-holes were constructed in 1991 and over the next twelve years it would evolve to an 18-hole regulation course, along with an 18-hole Par 3 course. Following a ribbon cutting ceremony, the course was inaugurated by the threesome of Larry Schneider, Dale Newell, and Judi Schneider Pavon. At the time Pavon was a member of the LPGA Tour and had already cemented herself as one of Montana’s best golfers, before going on to a Hall of Fame career as a golf coach at the University of Tennessee.
A nice course for walking, the Fox Ridge Golf Course is a family friendly course that caters to all skill levels. Along with the two courses they also have a big driving range, two putting greens, a practice bunker and chipping area. Not to mention outstanding views of the Sleeping Giant and Mount Helena. Truly an underrated gem on the east side of Helena.
